Great Lakes Gurgaon 12th Convocation presided by Mr. Vijay Chandok, Managing Director, ICICI Securities

New Delhi (India) : Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, a premier management institute in the country, recently hosted its 12th convocation for PGPM 2022-23, and PGDM 2021-23. Mr. Vijay Chandok, Managing Director, ICICI Securities was the Chief Guest for the grand annual event.

As a part of the convocation ceremony, 358 students graduated today. Cash prizes and gold medals were announced for meritorious students across the graduating batches of PGPM 2022-23, and PGDM 2021-23, out of which 30% and 45% students were females in PGPM and PGDM respectively.

This event witnessed the participation of the Board of Directors, Academic Committee, esteemed staff, and accomplished students of the Great Lakes Institute of Management. The Convocation ceremony was presided over by Dr. Debashis Sanyal, Director, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon.

Congratulating the graduating batch, Mr. Moham Lakhamraju, Chairman of the Great Lakes Institute of Management said, “One must understand the importance of time. Make time your friend. Give yourself the time to build expertise, master what you do and big things will happen. Believe in the power of compounding because big efforts compound over time. Think in the long term. Back yourself and have faith that if you keep doing the right thing, those big things moments will follow.”

Citing progress over the past three decades, Vijay Chandok, Managing Director, ICICI Securities highlighted the significance of cultivating a solution-oriented approach coupled with effective implementation. He said, “Innovation is critical to rescaling and therefore, you must upgrade yourself with whatever is happening in the world.” Emphasizing the value of challenges, he said, “Challenges are like sharks. Don’t try to avoid them. Face them and deal with them.”

Presenting the Director’s Report, Dr. Debashis Sanyal, Director, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, listed the highlights of the institute’s developments. He said that Great Lakes Gurgaon is the first B-School in India to introduce analytics.  The management institute has recently collaborated with foreign universities and has signed MOUs with IESEG (France), Deakin University (Australia), Ural Federal University (Russia), and EMAA Business School (Morocco). He also mentioned about Lumiere, which is Great Lakes, Gurgaon’s digital research symposium conducted in virtual mode on a half yearly basis. It is a platform for researchers from the management domain and allied disciplines to present their current research in front of a distinguished panel of experts and receive high-quality feedback.  Addressing the students, Dr. Sanyal said, “As you enter this new chapter, carry forward the values instilled in you by your loved ones and our esteemed institution. Strive for excellence, keep your thirst for knowledge alive, and be a beacon of integrity in every endeavor.

As a part of the convocation ceremony, academic honors were announced for the meritorious students. The gold medalists of PGDM 2023 were Divij Verma and Anagha Venugopalan Kartha for being the Academic Topper and Best Outgoing Student respectively. The gold medalists of PGPM 2023 were Athira Vinod and Neha Makin for being the Academic Topper and  Best Outgoing Student respectively.

The graduating class of the PGDM and PGPM witnessed an excellent placement season for Great Lakes, Gurgaon. Some of the leading companies that hired students were Deloitte, Cognizant, Bank of America, Virtusa, Accenture, KPMG, Wipro, Aditya Birla, and Salesforce. For PGDM batch, the highest domestic CTC offered was 21.5 lakhs p.a. & average was 11.6 lakhs p.a. while for the PGPM batch, highest domestic CTC offered was 33.3 lakhs p.a. and the average CTC was 15.8 lakhs p.a.
