Sampark 2025, IEEE Gujarat Section’s 20th Edition Ends on a High Note

Surat (Gujarat) [India], February 18: The popular annual event, Sampark 2025, organized by the Sarvajanik University, successfully took place yesterday at Tara Moti Hall, PT Science College Campus. This 20th edition saw an impressive turnout of over 300 participants, including students, teachers, and young professionals from various universities across Gujarat. The event was hosted by SCET’s (The Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology) IEEE Student Branch, with 125 volunteers helping make it a success.

Awards Ceremony Highlights:

Sampark 2025 started with an exciting Awards Ceremony, recognizing outstanding IEEE student branches and volunteers. A total of 39 Student Branches (SBs) took part, with 25 actively participating.

The winners were:

•    Emerging Student Branch Award – LDRP Institute of Technology and Research

•    Membership Growth Award – Ganpat University (GUNI), India

•    Special Mention Award (Tie) – SCET (Student Branch) & Nirma (Student Branch)

•    Best Student Branch Award – Silver Oak University

•    Best Student Volunteer Award – Khushboo Jha (SCET Volunteer)

Informative Sessions & Discussions:

After the awards, Engineer Ankit Dave spoke about the benefits of IEEE membership, highlighting its importance for career growth.

A discussion on “How to Start a Successful Startup” was led by Dr. Nirav Mandir and Retd. Group captain Sameer Kulkarni, where they shared useful tips on launching and running a business.

Post-lunch, a special Mental Health Awareness Session was held to encourage open conversations and support for mental well-being by Prof Beena Sheth and Prof. Neeta Chapatwala.

IEEE DataThon & Poster Presentation:

The highlight of the day was the IEEE DataThon, a Hackathon with hardware and software challenges. Participants used their problem-solving skills to compete, and top performers were awarded prizes.

Later the Poster Presentation saw 29 Student Branches head showcasing their achievements and future plans before the IEEE Section Committee.

The event ended with Networking Sessions, Fun Games, and a Jamming Session at 5:30 PM, leaving everyone with great memories.

Sampark 2025 once again proved to be a great platform for learning, networking, and innovation, reinforcing IEEE’s mission to support technology and education.
